of 170 New Bond Street, London. An Exceptional Whitworth Patent
12-Bore Double-Barrelled Bar-In-Wood Sidelock Hammer Rifle. In
its studded oak and leather case with an unusual array of labels
including a miniature of the regulating target shot at 100
yards. 28" fine damascuss barrels with patent Whitworth
rifling, Engraved along the rib with the makers name and
address and leaf sighted from 50 to 250 yards, non rebounding
side locks with fine rose & scroll engraving and signed with
'Westley Richards' retaining much of it's original colour, bolted
Dolphin hammers, patent top lever engraved 'Westley's Richards
Patent'. Figured walnut stock with a chequered pistol grip and an
engraved cap, cheek piece, finished with it's blued metal butt
plate, engraved iron mounts. Weight 10lb 11oz. Circa 1872. |

border and scroll and with the makers name in a banner and on
top of the breech in an oval is 'Patent No 478', Dolphin hammer.
Well figured walnut pistol grip stock finished
with a chequered steel butt plate with a hinged trap. |
